Abdo Cloud/Microsoft: Forgot or Expired Password

Abdo Cloud/Microsoft: Forgot or Expired Password

Overview

Resetting your cloud password changes your password for:
  1. Abdo Cloud / email login
  2. Teams
  3. Power BI
  4. Any Office 365 app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  5. Any SSO logins tied to your Microsoft account
You are able to do a self-service password reset for this set of applications if you set up account recovery, so you don't have to rely on IT to reset your cloud password each time.

This article will cover how to set up account recovery, as well as how to reset your password, for apps that are tied to your cloud account in the event you have forgotten your password. If you just need to update it, please see Abdo Cloud/Microsoft: Reset Password

Resetting your password

If you don't have backup verification methods set up or they aren't working, you will need to contact IT.

If you have set up your backup verification methods for account recovery, you will be able to reset your password on your own using the directions found below.

  1. If you are unable to sign in to an app that is tied to your cloud login, select the "Forgot my password" button under the login.

  1. Complete the captcha. It will then open a screen asking which verification method you would like to use from what you previously set up. Follow the prompt for the option you choose to complete the identity verification request.
    1. Once you have completed the identity verification request, you will be prompted to set a new password for your cloud account
    2. Save your new cloud password to LastPass

Setting up account recovery

You should have more than one contact method set up on your account for completing 2-step authentication requests in the event that your primary method is unavailable.

You can manage the authentication methods attached to your account through myaccount.microsoft.com  >  My Security Info. You can also manage your default authentication method on this screen.
  1. IT recommends using Microsoft Authenticator notifications as your default method
